DAY 1 : : AIRPORT / COLOMBO (35km)

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, met by "triptosrilanka" Representatives and transfer to Hotel in Colombo.

DAY 2 : : COLOMBO / PINNAWALA / KANDY (140km)

After Breakfast, leave for Kandy.

En route visits Elephant Orphanage Pinnawala.

ELEPHANT ORPHANGE

The foster – home of elephants of different age and size feeding, bathing, playing together and even mating. These have been found injured or left abandoned in the wilderness. There are even little baby calves born  in captivity.

Next visits Spice Gardens at Mavanella.

SPICE GARDEN

Visit a spice garden at mavanella which grows spices and herbs used for Sri Lankan cuisine and medication. Spices of Sri Lanka attracted the early sea faring merchants who made the long voyages to purchase this precious merchandise.

On Arrival in Kandy Proceed to your Hotel .

DAY 3 : KANDY ( LOCAL )

After Breakfast begin a City tour of Kandy, including Upper Lake Drive (Also possible is a boat ride in Kandy Lake), Market Square, Arts & Crafts Centre, Gem Lapidary , Botanical Gargen and Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH OF RELIC OF BUDDHA

Visit the Temple of the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. This temple, the most important one for The Sri Lankan Buddhists was built in the 16th Century A.D. solely for the purpose of housing the tooth relic. Observe the magnificent Architecture of that period and experience the tranquility of the atmosphere

P.m. Visit art and craft centre and Gem Bureau where you will be shown a documentary film on how Sri Lankan Gem mining is traditionally done .

GEM MUSEUM

You visit the Gem Museum in Kandy.

Throughout history, Sri Lanka has been known as a land of gems. King Solomon was said to have procured a great ruby for the Queen of Sheba from Ceylon. Marco Polo wrote of wonderful Ceylon gems. The Blue Sapphire is king of Sri Lankan gems. The 400 carat Blue Sapphire called “Blue Belle”, which adorns the British Crown, is from Sri Lanka. The beautiful star sapphire misnamed the “Star of India” is displayed at New York’s Museum of Natural History. Besides rubies and sapphire, the illama soil also bears cat’s eyes, alexandrite, aquamarines, tourmalines, spiels, topaz, garnets, amethyst, zircons and variety of other stones.

BOTANICAL GARDEN

En       route       you       also       visit       The       Royal        Botanical        Garden        in        Peradeniya.    The Royal Botanical Garden at Peradeniya was established in 1821 and now covers an area of 140 acres, snuggled in a loop in the Mahaweli River, the longest river in Sri Lanka. Its primary purpose was

and acclimatizing of plants for commercial use in Sri Lanka. Today the Gardens have one of the largest collections of flora from sub tropical climates around the world.

CULTURAL SHOW

Enjoy a typical Sri Lankan Cultural Show of Drumming Dancing music and fire walking.

Dinner and overnight stay at -Kandy

DAY 4 : : KANDY / KITHULGALA / BENTOTA (190km)

After Breakfast Proceed to Bentota via Kithulgala.

KITULGALA

Kitulgala is little village on one of the routes between Colombo and Nuwara Eliya. The name Kitulgala derived from the word KITUL (fish tail palm) trees that grow in abundance in these parts. The Kelani River that flows through Kitulgala does not only beautifully the village but also attracts tourists for the white water rafting that has become so popular in it. The most important scene of blasting the bridge and train in the famous film “ The Bridge on the River Kwai” was also filmed at Kitulgala and the film site is also a site visited by many tourists. Bandara Kele a patch of nature reserve that has become very popular with bird watchers and Nature lovers.

Arive in Bentota by Afternoon .

p.m. at leisure on Bentota Beach , We get the opportunity for Water Sport Activity at Bentota Beach , Take a Boat Ride on Madhu Ganga River & also visit a Turtle Hatchery .

TURTLE HATCHERY

Projects have been launched to conserve the population of turtles that are reaching extinction and such projects are found along the southern coast of Sri Lanka where turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. The turtle digs a hole on the Beach, Lays hers eggs and covers it with sand where it is supposed to, incubate by the heat of the sun. What often happens is, the eggs are dug out by fisherman and sold to people who consume them.

But now the eggs are bought up by the conservation projects and are hatched the Natural way in enclosed areas where the Birds don’t have a chance of picking them up and the babies are let in to the sea after two days at night time which offers them a better chance of survival

Next River Safari in Madhu Ganga

BOAT SAFARI

The Boat Safari on the River Madhu is something that words would not justify. The primitive Life Style of the inhabitant of the islands of the Madhu River is only a boat ride away. The boat ride that takes you through the thick mangroves, The bird life around, the primitive style of Fishing and prawn trapping still practiced by the inhabitants of the islands will reveal to you another facet of splendid Sri Lanka.

DAY 05 : BENTOTA - COLOMBO / AIRPORT

Breakfast at Hotel.

As per your flight time , we spend some leisurely time at Bentota Beach and then proceed to Airport for Departure .
